local views

Local views have provided an intro to help me begin to understand a subtle but rich landscape. Each time I look from the house, or discover a view that is but a confluence of light, time of day, intersection of horizontal and vertical, I come to know the place better. The understated complexity promises a cornucopia that suggests the natural and man-made interface, a tension between flatness and depth, an ancient curve and recent man-made scar or vegetative intrusion.
